We believe that waste segregation has a very important role to play in the conservation of the environment and therefore,are working towards the goal of making our city a zero-landfill zone. Landfill is the oldest method of waste treatment by burial of disposed waste.Poorly managed landfills have the potential of causing a number of issues, such as contamination of groundwater, and soil. Methane is naturally generated by decaying organic wastes in a landfill. It is a potent greenhouse gas, and can itself be a danger because it is flammable and potentially explosive.
